New listings in Chicago reached another high for the year last week as listings under contract dipped from the week before and closings rose, Midwest Real Estate Data said in its Weekly Market Snapshot.  

Specifically, new listings in the week ended May 19 rose to 5,967 homes from 5,913 listings the week before and 5,964 in the same week a year ago.  

Listings under contract rose to 3,161 listings from 3,561 the week before and 2,850 a year earlier.  

Closings, meanwhile, increased to 2,168, compared to 1,992 a week earlier and 2,457 in 2024.
