What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I have always worked in the mortgage industry (since 1997).

Where did you grow up?
Maracaibo Venezuela and Chicago since 1989.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
A doctor like [my] father.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Running outside and inside during winter.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Nelson Mandela because I’m inspired by his perseverance and determination.

What is Chicago’s best-kept secret?
I like a little place called Mama Delia’s on Division because of the variety of flavors within their dishes.

What do you love most about the industry?
The satisfaction of helping families obtain the American dream of homeownership. I’ve belonged to the AREAA and NAHREP organizations for many years.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I always try to think of my clients as my friends. I keep them informed before and during the process of the mortgage approval in order to make the transaction as easy as possible for them.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Leveraging higher interest rates in the current economic downturn we are experiencing.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Always have a value proposition for your prospects.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
My two children.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I like “Stranger Things,” “Game of Thrones,” “The Offer.”

What’s your favorite meal in Chicago?
Chicago-style hot dog.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago?
The Wrigley Building.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
COVID-19, by far.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
That I am Hispanic.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Maui because of the nature and beautiful beaches
