Patrick Shipp, Broker, Compass

by Chicago Agent

Number of years in real estate:
Seven years.

Describe your look:
“Functional Tech”: My signature look is a solid T-shirt with a blazer, dark denim and loafers.

What style has come back into fashion that you think shouldn’t have?
Chunky sneakers — they are beyond obnoxious!

What item of clothing gets you the most compliments?
My tan, wool winter duffel coat. It’s so cozy for a winter day of showings and it’s the same coat Peter McCallister wears in the movie “Home Alone”! Everyone always compliments me on it!

What is a fashion crime you have committed?
White pants after Labor Day! Who hasn’t?

What are your favorite clothing stores or brands?
Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Cole Haan.

What fashion accessory do you feel naked without?
A watch. Lately, my Apple Watch, but I also like my Bulova.

Who is your style icon?
Ryan Serhant, “Million Dollar Listing New York”

What’s the most expensive or meaningful accessory or piece of clothing you’ve ever acquired? Do you still have it?
Most expensive: Gucci loafers. Most meaningful: a black, cashmere turtleneck that belonged to my late grandfather.

What item in your closet do you wear the most?
A solid pair of gym shorts when I walk in the door. Either Lululemon or Legends.

J. Crew shirt, blazer custom from Thailand, Bearbottom pants, Cole Haan shoes, Banana Republic belt, Apple Watch
