Matthew Neistat, Broker, @properties, Lincoln Park

by Chicago Agent

Number of years in real estate: Six-and-a-half years.
Describe your look: Professional yet casual. I grew up in a family that always pushed the importance of looking your best. I tried the daily suit and tie look for a bit and realized it just wasn’t me. I didn’t feel like myself and others probably saw that too. I strive to always dress for the occasion, and will where the tie when required, but more often than not, I go for a dress shirt, nice jeans or slacks, a great pair of shoes and a jacket of varied style.
What do you consider a “fashion don’t”? Not being dressed appropriately for the occasion.
What is your favorite piece of clothing and why? This isn’t exactly clothing, but I don’t leave home without my watch. It was my grandfather’s, and when he passed, my grandmother gave it to me. It reminds me to stay grounded and keep working.
What is a fashion crime you have committed in the past? Jnco Jeans and a chain wallet. Need I say more?
Where are your favorite places to shop? Nordstrom. The customer service is great and I am really picky about how things fit. They are helpful and understanding of each tweak I want to make to my clothes. Also, I love to shop in Los Angeles. I lived out there for a few years and came to love the trendy and laid-back style. It reminds me that casual can absolutely be professional and look great.
What, besides your wardrobe, completes your look? A clean haircut and my cell phone.
What is in your bag/briefcase? Laptop, notebook, gum and glasses.
My closet is full of… Shoes.
Jacket: Ted Baker; shoes: Santoni; watch: Rolex; jeans: DTSLD; shirt: Ike Behr; belt: Allen Edmonds
