What was your first job in the realty industry? Leasing agent in 2010.

Where did you grow up? Hoffman Estates.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Architect or urban planner.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Exercise or binge on Netflix.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Franklin Delano Roosevelt, because I would love to know how he kept so positive during some of the most difficult moments of our history.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Kickball at Waveland Park.

What do you love most about the industry? I love helping people solve problems. Every problem that is overcome only helps arm me with more knowledge the next time I need to deal with something similar.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? One way is that I have branded myself as “Andy O” because my last name is not memorable and hard to pronounce.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The most difficult aspect of my job is helping buyers and sellers agree on inspection issues and credits!

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I try to accept as many social invites from my friends as possible because I know there will be people there that I do not know.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment was becoming a homeowner myself. I became very overwhelmed by the financial aspect, so I now think I can better relate to the stress my clients get when buying a home.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? “Lion.”

What is your favorite restaurant? Gibson’s.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago? Lake Point Towers.

What kind of car do you drive? Lincoln MKZ Hybrid.

Smartphone or paper? Paper.

What is your favorite city after Chicago? New Orleans, because it is the most European-feeling city in the U.S.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Promote.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Dotloop, because it allows me to execute contracts on the go!

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I don’t check Twitter enough to have a favorite.
