Optima Chicago Center Welcomes Texas de Brazil

by Melinda Gray

Real estate developer Optima, Inc. has announced that Texas de Brazil, an authentic Brazilian-American steakhouse, will be opening this fall at the Optima Chicago Center, the developer’s exciting residential building located in Streeterville.

Designed by nationally renowned award-winning architect David Hovey, Optima Chicago Center is a 42-story residential rental building located at 200 E. Illinois Avenue. The building offers a resort-like setting with views of Lake Michigan, the Chicago River, parks and landmark buildings such as Tribune Tower.

“Texas de Brazil is an ideal match for the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Streeterville and Optima Chicago Center,” David Hovey said. “We believe that residents of the building as well as others who live in the area or are shopping along Michigan Avenue will welcome this distinctive restaurant.”

Texas de Brazil currently operates 31 restaurants, 3 of which are international, and plans to open 10 more this year. Its Optima Chicago Center location will be its second in Illinois, with the other located in Schaumburg.

“We believe Optima Chicago Center is the perfect location to bring another great Texas de Brazil dining experience to the state of Illinois,” said Salim Asrawi, chief operation officer of Texas de Brazil. “We are excited to become a part of the Chicago downtown Streeterville neighborhood and look forward to serving new Texas de Brazil guests.”

The rodizio-style restaurant features a menu with an extensive selection of deliciously seasoned meats carved tableside by the restaurant’s authentically costumed “gauchos.” The restaurant also features a gourmet salad area with more than 50 items, delectable desserts, an award-winning wine list and the Brazilian signature cocktail, the Caipirinha.
