Agents are spending more and more time online during the day – 81 percent spend more than two hours; only 73 percent of agents spent that much time on the Internet in 2010. The percentage of agents with their own website and/or blog increased more than 10 percentage points, from 2010’s 64 percent to 76 percent in 2011, but emails to clients remain the most used marketing tool with 91 percent of agents using them.

Tablets have made a mark on the real estate market with 65 percent of agents owning one, but age greatly affects whether or not an agent has one, too – 77 percent of agents under 35 own a tablet compared to 62 percent of those over 35.
