Chief Executive Officer of Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) Russ Bergeron has been named to the board of directors of the MLS Domain Association (MDA).
Bergeron will work alongside MDA, whose purpose is to obtain, manage and promote the use of the .MLS domain on the Internet.
In addition to his role as CEO at MRED–the Chicagoland MLS–Bergeron sits on advisory boards for Realtor.com, Trulia.com, Supra and CoreLogic/Realist, and is a member of the Illinois Association of Realtors Strategic Planning Committee and the Realtors Property Resource User Advisory Council.
Bergeron, who has been listed in Inman News’ “100 Most Influential Leaders in Real Estate,” explained that he is “thrilled” to serve as a director for MDA, and explained the significance of their efforts.
“The effort to obtain, manage and promote the use of the .MLS top-level domain is critical for our industry,” said Bergeron. “There is much misinformation regarding listing data and the accuracy, timeliness and validity of the content being exposed to the public.”
