Time to Cut Back? Not for Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell

by Chicago Agent

Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell, one of the largest residential real estate firms in Illinois, has just acquired the Coldwell Banker Primus offices in Algonquin, Cary, Crystal Lake, McHenry and Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. With this acquisition, Honig-Bell expands its sights and scope into the McHenry County and Southeastern Wisconsin markets.

Ed Prodehl, President of Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell

Under the leadership of owner and President Ed Prodehl, Honig-Bell is the number one Coldwell Banker franchise in the state of Illinois and the number three franchise among Coldwell Banker’s 961 companies nationwide. Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell currently has 36 residential offices, two commercial offices, and over 1,000 agents.

As Honig-Bell makes this acquisition, and continues to consider others, most other brokerages are cutting back. Prodehl says he is not worried; he is confident that the real estate market is improving and he is excited about his company’s expansion.

“Growth is essential in any business,” says Prodehl. With the adjoining market areas serviced by Honig-Bell and Primus, there could not be a better fit to the company’s growth plans.

“Today marks another chapter in our firm’s great history,” Prodehl said. “We are a family-owned business that has had great success due to our management team and outstanding agents. We look forward to welcoming the Coldwell Banker Primus agents into the Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell family and are confident the transition will be seamless.”

Aside from the five newly-acquired offices, Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell office locations currently include Joliet, Shorewood, Channahon, Morris, Ottawa, Plainfield, Naperville, Romeoville, Lockport, Homer Glen, New Lenox, Frankfort, Orland Hills, Aurora, Oswego, Yorkville, Geneva, Sycamore, Genoa, Champaign, Springfield, Danville, Decatur, Peoria, Pekin, Monticello, Morton, Mahomet, Rantoul and Arthur. Honig-Bell has been a member of the Coldwell Banker Chairman’s Circle, a high and prestigious honor, since joining the Coldwell brand in 1994. The franchise ranks 31 for closed transaction sides among the 500 largest brokers in the nation.

“There is no doubt that Ed and his management team at Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell have built a real estate power in Illinois,” said Jim Gillespie, chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC. “They have done phenomenally well in the suburbs of Chicago, and I am confident that their successful approach to real estate will translate well in northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin. The Coldwell Banker brand has played a significant role in helping thousands of homebuyers and sellers in these markets over the years and the outstanding service they have come to expect from our brand will continue under Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell.”
