Magellan Development Group and NNP Residential, its property leasing and management affiliate, have captured a trio of prestigious awards presented by the Chicagoland Apartment Association including CAA’s highest award for the third time in the past four years.
Heading the list of 2010 of CAA’s Marketing and Management Excellence (CAMME) Awards was the Property Excellence Award for the internationally-acclaimed mixed-use Aqua tower at Lakeshore East.
The Tides, the second luxury rental tower completed in the $4 billion complex being developed by Magellan on the New Eastside, was named winner of the 2009 Property Excellence Award. The Shoreham, the first rental tower completed at Lakeshore East was winner of the 2006 Property Excellence Award.
A second honor was the Community Service Program Award for the Magellan Spring Marathon and 10K Race held last May that raised $250,000 in behalf of the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute.

Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute is collaboration between the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The Institute merges clinical research with medical and surgical treatment for brain and spinal tumor patients.
Rounding out the cluster of 2010 awards was Community Amenities Package to Aqua. Widely acclaimed for its distinctive design produced by outdoor balconies and terraces that form unique contours of different sizes and shapes and its impact on Chicago’s architecturally distinctive skyline, Aqua also provides residents with an incomparable amenities package that sets a new standard for CAA’s target of “services to enhance the relationship of the residents with the property.”
Known as The Shore Club, Aqua’s amenities package is comparable to a world-class resort, including two floors of outdoor/indoor entertainment and recreation features that boast the largest outdoor pool and amenity deck in the city.
Components of the 80,000-square-foot landscaped deck include a sundeck and gardens, running track, swimming pool and hot tub, gazebos and poolside cabanas, fire pit, barbecue areas and wireless internet.
Indoors, a 35,000-square-foot amenity floor provides residents and guests with fitness facilities, a basketball court, group fitness studio, indoor lap pool and hot tub, a spa, sauna, steam and massage rooms, private club suites with catering kitchens, sky garden lounge, media room, billiards and game area and business center with conference room.
CAMME awards recognize owners and associates who make superior contributions to apartment marketing and management through exemplary achievements and with more than 50 awards NNP still holds the record as Chicago’s most awarded apartment manager.
