Koenig & Strey Goes the Extra Yard for Young Chicagoland Athletes

by Chicago Agent

As the exclusive real estate sponsor of the 2008 Brian Urlacher Football Camp, Wilmette-based Koenig & Strey GMAC Real Estate is excited to welcome the summer camp to Chicagoland for the first time in its eight-year history. The camp will be attended by 250 athletes, and the residential real estate brokerage firm provided scholarships to 25 young aspiring football players to attend.
The 2008 Brian Urlacher Football Camp will be held at the Lake Forest West High School Athletic Campus. Coached by Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, along with past and present NFL players and local and national high school and college coaches, the three-day non-contact program teaches basic football skills, teamwork and sportsmanship to athletes ages six to 18.

In order to scout scholarship recipients, some Koenig & Strey GMAC offices partnered with local elementary and high schools, asking the football coaches to nominate students they felt were most deserving of a camp scholarship. Each scholarship was for the full cost of the program.

Playing an important role in the selection process at the Koenig & Strey GMAC Deerfield office was sales associate Emery Moorehead, a member of the 1985 World Champion Chicago Bears and an Evanston native.

After eight successful seasons in Albuquerque, N.M., this is the first year that the Brian Urlacher Football Camp will also be held in Chicago.
