From the moment he stepped into a high-volume real estate law firm at the start of his career, Themis Katris understood what it meant to move fast, think critically and handle pressure with grace. Over the years, he’s closed thousands of transactions, but his commitment to excellence remains personal. “My father taught me the ins and outs of real estate when I was young,” Themis recalls. “I pursued the legal side so I could help him later in life. Then I discovered how much I truly loved the work itself.”

Today, he’s the co-founder and managing partner of The Katris Law Group, which he launched with his sister, Viki. Their practice focuses on both residential and commercial real estate transactions throughout Chicagoland.

Having been in real estate for 11 years, Themis remains unapologetically hands-on. “I make myself available to my clients day and night,” he says. “I don’t just process deals. I guide people through some of the most important decisions of their lives.”

From 2020 to 2025, Themis has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star, a designation reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys in the state. He’s an active member of the Hellenic Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association and Mainstreet Realtors. He also serves proudly on the board of the Elmhurst District 205 Foundation for Educational Excellence.

Themis is known for preparing clients thoroughly, walking clients through every step of the real estate process, answering questions early and setting expectations with honesty. When he’s not closing deals or advocating for clients, he’s recharging with his wife and their two young sons. Together, they love traveling to Greece, Florida and their beloved Door County, Wisconsin.
