It has been said that every home has a story. When it comes to the homes in the far South Side’s Beverly neighborhood, Meg Mulrenin has a few stories of her own. A lifelong resident of the area whose family history is woven into the fabric of the community, Mulrenin is likely to have played in the backyards of most of the homes she now sells.
“Beverly is such a unique neighborhood in Chicago, and it truly takes a born-and-bred native to know the intricacies of every pocket, street, school, local landmark and the rich history that exists here,” Mulrenin says. “Almost every home I show, I know who lived there 20 years ago or I played on the block as a kid.”
The experience she gained in the financial industry after college, including positions in wealth management and the mortgage business, provided Mulrenin a strong foundation that prepared her to become a Realtor and eventually own her own successful brokerage, Town Realty Chicago.
In 2024, Town Realty was the top independent brokerage in Beverly Hills/Morgan Park. “It gives me a huge sense of pride to have taken this company that I founded a few years ago at my kitchen table from a no-name to a No. 1 firm,” Mulrenin shares, adding that opening her first brick-and-mortar office on Western Avenue this year was also a huge accomplishment.
Town Realty Chicago is an homage to her family’s venerable Town Liquors, a longtime staple in Beverly. “Through Town Liquors, my family instilled a 37-year example of how to serve my community. I am so proud to have the Town name behind me and continue their legacy. It’s always a special feeling each time someone makes the connection.”
