Michael Crossett, Executive Vice President

The Federal Savings Bank, NMLS # 184313

Following a successful career in the U.S. Army, Michael Crossett wanted to continue to serve. “After leading attack helicopter units ranging from 15 to 130 personnel, I embraced the idea of helping people with home mortgages,” he remembers. “Optimizing mortgages to help people achieve other goals in life was very appealing.”

Crossett now serves as executive vice president of The Federal Savings Bank, which is renowned for expertise in site-built and system-built construction and currently ranks among the top 10 construction lenders in the country. In this role, he leads a high-performing team of over 120 loan officers, sales managers and loan partners. “Leading a team at this scale allows us to serve a wider range of clients without compromising on service quality,” he says. “I am able to implement strategy, coach to results and maintain consistency across markets.”

Crossett is also part of an executive leadership group that helps him stay aligned with company goals, ensures cross-departmental coordination and keeps him grounded in the bigger picture. “Being part of a team reminds me that leadership is about creating the right environment so everyone can do their best work,” he shares.

Crossett is persistently recruiting top performers who are interested in having access to unique lending programs. “As a federally chartered bank, we leverage our bank capital to provide consumer loans, construction and renovation lending, as well as unique portfolio programs,” he explains. “This helps our loan officers say yes more often while also helping them grow their client and referral-based business.”

The top producer in both loan origination and loan quality while working as a mortgage banker, Crossett has been in the lending industry for 21 years. Originally from Syracuse, New York, he resides in Naperville with his wife, two daughters and goldendoodle.
