Karth Barr, Producing Branch Manager, Chicago Market Leader

Union Home Mortgage NMLS #219563

For Karth Barr, the journey into mortgage banking wasn’t initially on his radar. It was an unexpected offer during his senior year in college that led him to embark on a career as a loan officer at a startup mortgage company. Although he had envisioned himself entering into the investment realm of the financial markets post-college, fate had different plans. Embracing this unforeseen path, Barr found himself drawn to the mortgage industry, particularly relishing the opportunity to empower clients with financial literacy during the loan process.

“As I embarked on my career, my commitment was to become a true master of my craft,” shares Barr, now a producing branch manager and Chicago market leader for Union Home Mortgage in Chicagoland. “Throughout my 29-year journey, I’ve honed a deep understanding of mortgage products, equipping me to better serve my clients.”

Barr is passionate about helping clients navigate unique home financing scenarios while fostering financial empowerment through education. His meticulous attention to detail and relentless pursuit of exceeding client expectations have earned him trust, admiration and industry recognition both local and nationally. With nearly $935 million in residential mortgages originated to date, Barr’s commitment to client-centric service has remained unwavering, driving consistent year-over-year growth regardless of market dynamics.

“While my focus has always been on education and mentorship, my team plays the most important role in realizing our collective success,” he emphasizes. “Without my team’s contribution, none of our achievements within this market would have been achieved.”

Barr has worked alongside his operations manager and production partner, Megan Gober, since 2006. With a career spanning nearly three decades, Barr’s enthusiasm for mortgage banking remains undiminished. “I am truly passionate about what I do,” he says.
