A Midwesterner since birth, Keith Goad has lived and worked in Chicago for 32 years and in real estate for 25 years. For the last two decades, he has called the Edgewater, Andersonville and Uptown neighborhoods home, specializing in historic homes in Chicago’s lakeshore communities as well as in Michigan and Indiana.
Driven by his interest and appreciation for historic homes and unique properties, Goad earned his master’s degree in historic preservation in 2015. His knowledge of historic homes, their building materials and their preservation standards is a distinct asset to his real estate business, providing a unique advantage for his clients.
“Understanding the craftsmanship, architectural details and proper care of older homes and historic districts allows me to guide buyers and sellers with confidence, whether it’s evaluating the integrity of original features, advising on sensitive renovations or marketing historic properties to the right audience,” Goad explains. “This expertise builds trust with clients who value character and quality and has helped me successfully align buyers with homes that embrace both history and lifestyle.”
A member of the Society of Architectural Historians and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Goad has a long list of real estate accolades. In 2024, he was among Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ top 2% of agents. He also earned the Chicago Association of Realtors’ Top Producer Award, along with other honors. “I can genuinely say that I’m an expert in what I do,” he says, “and that confidence is grounded in years of hands-on experience, education, industry recognition and, most importantly, the trust of my clients.”
When not working, Goad enjoys giving back to his community. He currently serves on the board of the Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists’ Residency, as well as his local block club. He also enjoys spending time outdoors.
