With over 25 years of experience, Darby Zwagerman brings a unique blend of design expertise and real estate insight to each client interaction. Before transitioning into real estate, she built a successful career as an interior designer at architecture firms across Chicago, sharpening her eye for how people live in and move through spaces. That foundation evolved into helping clients find homes that meet their needs and reflect their lifestyles.

“Real estate allows me to blend creativity with strategy — and make a real impact on people’s lives,” says Zwagerman, a broker with @properties Christie’s International Real Estate.

Raised in Wheaton and based in Chicago for more than three decades, Zwagerman offers deep market knowledge of the city and its suburbs. Although much of her business centers in Chicago, she’s also active in the suburbs. From Pilsen to Evanston, she follows her clients wherever their next chapter leads. “I go where my clients go,” she says. “My client base is as diverse as the neighborhoods I serve.”

Zwagerman’s network of clients includes first-time buyers, high-end homeowners, developers and longtime investors. “Building lasting relationships truly drives my business,” she shares. One investor has worked with her on 40 property sales, and 95% of her business comes from repeat and referral clients.

In the past year, Zwagerman helped 20 families buy or sell homes ranging from starter residences to luxury dream homes, offering trusted guidance at every price point. Her adaptability to changing markets remains a cornerstone of her success.

Zwagerman is a recipient of the @properties Christie’s International Real Estate Impact Award and holds certifications in negotiation, service, buyer representation and luxury marketing. A Junior League of Chicago member since 2018, she co-chaired the Child Enrichment Committee, which was honored in 2023 for its work with the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center.

Outside of work, Zwagerman enjoys Pilates, traveling and design.
