To succeed in the mortgage industry, Ben Cohen knows there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. “My approach remains consultative,” explains Cohen, managing director and senior vice president of lending at Rate. “I try to look at every mortgage with fresh eyes and give every client the best mortgage plan to meet their financial goals.”
Cohen’s approach is rooted in expert guidance, accessibility and genuine care. “I always stay up-to-date on the latest loan products and platforms to make sure I am best advising my clients,” he shares. “I also take accountability seriously. I’m responsive 24/7/365 — my clients know they can pick up the phone and call or text me anytime.”
Speed is also one of Cohen’s core strengths. “I’m always looking for ways to improve the process and use Rate’s technology to give my clients a more efficient and productive experience,” he reports. “Making the mortgage process seamless from start to finish has always been a primary goal. I also love mentoring newcomers to the industry whenever I can.”
Cohen is driven by a deep passion for helping people achieve homeownership. “I advise every client as I would a family member,” he says. “Helping people realize their dreams of homeownership is something I’m truly grateful to be a part of.”
In addition to his day-to-day work with clients, Cohen appears weekly on NBC’s “Open House Chicago,” where he shares real, practical mortgage advice for buyers and sellers navigating today’s market — all while touring luxury homes across the Chicago area.
