Aleksandr Katsman has been a trusted name in Chicago real estate for more than two decades. But his journey to the top is anything but ordinary. Born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, Katsman launched his real estate career in 1992, becoming a pioneer in Kyiv’s developing real estate market. Seeking greater opportunities and a fresh start, he made the bold decision at the age of 26 to move to the United States with his wife and daughter.

Through hard work and a relentless drive to succeed, Katsman rose to managing broker and partner at Barr Agency Real Estate Consultants, serving buyers and sellers in both Illinois and Florida. “I cater to every client’s needs, goals and objectives,” he says.

Katsman doesn’t just facilitate transactions, he builds relationships with clients based on trust, transparency and open communication. It’s a way of conducting business that ensures clients feel heard and supported throughout their buying or selling journey.

With numerous certifications under his belt, including Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Seller Representative Specialist, Real Estate Negotiation Expert, and Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource, Katsman’s expertise is indisputable. He’s a proud member of the National Association of Realtors, the Illinois Association of Realtors, and the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors (NSBAR). He is among the 2024 top 50 highest-producing agents in NSBAR, and has also been recognized as a top producer by the Chicago Association of Realtors and named a platinum member by the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors, placing him in the top 2% for residential transactions.

Outside of real estate, Katsman’s passions include travel, soccer, hockey, swimming in the ocean and music. He holds a master’s degree in conducting and piano. “Family is my foundation,” he says. “My latest milestone is becoming a proud grandfather.”
