Three different professionals — each with unique experiences, qualifications and talents — come together to form the Cory Tanzer Group at Option Realty Group. A licensed broker for eight years, Cory Tanzer started his career in retail and is now founder and team leader. Serena Phillips comes from the world of media and marketing. Drew Stoffer, a University of Illinois alum, brings the perspective of a former collegiate athletic scout and account executive.

“All of us come from different backgrounds and life experiences. Collectively, we provide a great client-first approach,” Tanzer explains. “We are known for our ability to truly listen to our clients and use that information to help them achieve their goals.”

The team specializes in first-time homebuyers and out-of-state relocations, providing firsthand knowledge about the experience of living in the city’s downtown neighborhoods. Sellers and investors can expect a deep understanding of market trends, pricing strategies and inventory competition, as well as a high-tech approach to boost listings with multimedia marketing. Tanzer and the team have a natural propensity for customer service and intuitively know what type of properties their clients are looking for in the West Loop, South Loop, Chicago Loop, University Village and Pilsen.

Awarded the silver level for units and volume from the Chicago Association of Realtors, the team sold the most units in the Near West Side of Chicago for the third consecutive year in 2022. They also helped more than 100 buyers and sellers in the University Village and South Loop areas, reaching $55 million in total sales.

Known as the “mayor of University Village,” Tanzer has a reputation for being the “go-to person” in the area, bringing widespread recognition to the entire team as well. “We have great, sustained relationships in the industry,” they say. “We are able to help our clients in this tight inventory market find the property, often before it hits the market.”

Tanzer realizes he and his team alone can’t change the world, but they can find the right property to change somebody’s world, and that’s a good start. Along with giving back to the community and supporting various nonprofit organizations, the team donates a percentage of their commissions to the Grand Kids Foundation.
