Matt Flaherty, Senior Home Lending Advisor

Chase Bank

Although rates increased quite rapidly in 2022, Matt Flaherty managed to surpass $1.1 billion in total career funded loan volume at Chase, with over 2,300 closed mortgages for his clients. A senior home lending advisor with Chase Bank, Flaherty has been in the industry for 24 years and is recognized as a professional who consistently keeps his clients’ best interests at heart. He supports everyone, from first-time homebuyers purchasing with 3% down to private clients using Chase’s specialized jumbo mortgages. “We have a variety of incentives ranging from relationship-rate discounts up to 1% and homebuyers grants up to $5,000,” he points out. “This provides me with the opportunity to provide additional value to all of my clients.”

With a degree in economics from the University of Virginia, Flaherty started his career in financial services, where he gained experience advising clients and building relationships. He credits his success as a lender to Chase’s supportive management and his dedicated team members, Nick Natale, Melissa Beale and Dave Poletti. “Due to the rapidly changing landscape, I am rolling up my sleeves and getting back to basics,” he admits. “I now commit more time to collaborating with the real estate community and am available 24/7 to my clients and partners.”

Chase presented Flaherty with the President’s Club and National Achiever awards for his work of the past 18 years. He also won the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association’s Best Mortgage Loan Officer award in the large bank category in 2016. Still, he insists that the highest professional compliment he can receive is being referred to his clients’ friends and family, or having past clients reach out to him for their next home purchase or refinance.

Flaherty lives in the Ravenswood Corridor with his wife, Mary, and their dog, Yogi. An avid Kona coffee drinker, he and Mary returned to the Big Island of Hawaii this past holiday season and plan to explore the island of Kauai later this year.
