Rebecca Thomson is a force of nature in the real estate industry, and the scope of her reach is impressive: She leads over 2,000 agents, accounting for more than $2.8 billion in real estate sales volume.
As regional vice president, Thomson ushered in a renaissance for Coldwell Banker Realty. Three years ago, she developed a regional leadership structure that elevates the agent experience with dedicated leaders supporting brokerage, high-level coaching, business strategy and growth. Since then, this has been replicated throughout the country, and agents are taking note. Thomson’s offices alone attracted just shy of 500 new agents last year.
“Agents want and deserve the best,” she says. “Our structure empowers us to provide elite brokerage support and coaching for agents to thrive in any market. We work as a team, we hire the best talent and we attract the best agents.”
Thomson’s leadership team is remarkable. In an industry where women are underrepresented in executive roles, over 75 percent of her 18 branch vice presidents are women. Thomson has always been a leading champion of women in real estate in her service as president of both the Chicago Association of Realtors and the Women’s Council–Chicago.
This past year, Thomson chaired the National Association of Realtor’s Strategic Plan, guiding the industry behemoth through 2025. She was also named one of RIS Media’s Newsmakers and, outside of real estate, she chairs the Gender Equality subcommittee for the Union League. She is also a proud member of Chicago’s International Women’s Forum, a wife and a mother of two. She truly does it all.
“There is work to be done and I love the work that I do; helping agents grow their business and developing leaders are two of my passions,” she says. “I’m proud of the impact I’ve had thus far and am excited for what the future holds.”
