Liliana Sekula-Lark, Realtor

Berkshire Hathaway Home Services

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (BHHS) Realtor Liliana Sekula-Lark has worked in real estate for 16 years, assisting buyers and sellers who range from first-time to luxury with properties in Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast, downtown Chicago, the South Loop and her home neighborhoods of Kenwood and Hyde Park. Her experience and results have earned Sekula-Lark a spot among the top 2% of producers with BHHS.

When working with buyers, she is always ready to do more, often driving all over the city and suburbs to find the right area and perfect home for a client.

Clients selling their properties appreciate Sekula-Lark’s talent to see the possibilities in a property and transform it to maximize sellers’ equity and create a true home for buyers. She is especially proud of recently gaining a seller over 35 percent in equity by working with them to improve their property. “It was a very happy moment,” she says.

Buyers and sellers have often praised Sekula-Lark’s ability to listen to them and to understand their needs. “They appreciate that I go above and beyond expectations in preparing properties for sale and spending time with buyers to familiarize them with the market,” she says. “Clients also value my professionalism and dedication. They know that I’m there for them when they need me.”

An art historian, she offers clients a great deal of knowledge beyond real estate: local history, architectural history as well as home structure interior and garden design.

Her experience living in other countries, travelling extensively and living in other parts of the United States has given her insight into the lives of buyers new to the city and especially those who grew up outside the United States. “I understand different cultures better than most people who never had that experience and don’t have those points of connection,” she says. “It helps to create a bond of trust.”

Fluent in Italian, German and Polish, she once worked as a representative for Italian and Polish companies trying to break into the U.S. market. That experience honed her problem-solving abilities that turned out to be crucial in the next career she chose, real estate. To this day, she’s glad she made the switch.
