Patti Skirving feels honored to have been mentored by a long-time industry professional during the first few years of her career. However, it was her family’s move to the North Shore that sparked her interest and eye for architecture. Given Skirving’s love of homes and past career in teaching, real estate has been a natural fit throughout her 25-year career.
Skirving specializes in luxury listings and relocations as well as serving first-time homebuyers. Her scope covers Lake Michigan towns from Evanston to Glencoe and from Northfield to Northbrook. Clients marvel at her work ethic and tireless devotion to them.
Tactical in her approach, she transforms each party’s span of control into actionable results, whether it’s a seller’s desired price or a buyer’s financing terms, Skirving brings a strategy for success and a “velvet hammer” negotiation style. She notes her extensive experience and the respect she holds in the industry as key to her competitive edge and her mostly referral-based business.
One of Skirving’s proudest accomplishments is teaming up with her husband and establishing The Patti & Julie Team. Her husband, Greg Skirving, boasts a successful commercial real estate career of 35 years with an emphasis on acquisition, development, financial analysis and management. Julie Hartvigsen brings 25 years in marketing and brand consultation in addition to being an established real estate professional. “We all share a devotion to our clients, the same work ethic and truly complement each other,” says Skirving. She takes great pride in the knowledge, expertise and product offerings the team provides.
A North Shore resident since 1990, where she has raised her family and continues to be deeply entwined in the community, its schools and sports teams. She’s a member of the Auxiliary of the Woman’s Board of Rush University Medical Center and Newborn Hope. For leisure, she and her husband are avid golfers and paddle players and have been members of the Kenilworth-Winnetka Dinner Club since 1992.
