A banking and finance major while at Purdue University, Mike Nielsen took a position with Wells Fargo after college. He later seized an opportunity to expand into mortgage lending and is now a 20-year industry veteran who knows how to partner with his clients to strategize for the best outcome.
Though his experience is vast, Nielsen specializes in jumbo loans, refinances and working with first-time homebuyers. Known for being goal oriented, honest and transparent, he knows his clients want speed, quality service and the best loan terms possible. He has cultivated numerous relationships over the years that provide a solid foundation for referrals. When a client is first referred, he starts them off with an orientation call. “I like to be an advisor to my clients by being as informative as possible without being a pushy salesperson,” he notes.
Nielsen leads a dynamic team that includes some of the top processors in his company. “This helps me to focus on the client, knowing that they are in great hands throughout the entire process,” he shares. Dedicated to his craft, Nielsen started the North Shore chapter of Business Network International and holds membership in multiple professional organizations. He’s received many accolades for his success in lending, including earning President’s Club status with his firm every year since 2006, and achieving both Chairman’s Club status and making Mortgage Executive Magazine’s top 1% of originators the past four years in a row.
Possessing a diverse range of interests outside his professional life, Nielsen has started delving into classic car collecting. He is also a drummer in a band and recently completed his first triathlon.
