Jim Jefferson sees himself as the mortgage industry’s version of the character Neo from “The Matrix.” Just as Neo was able to “see” the code within the Matrix, Jefferson, senior vice president at Guaranteed Rate, says, “I can see the most complex of financial situations with clarity. There may be dozens of different ways to structure a mortgage, but only one is the best for each client. Having the ability to find the best mortgage for my clients has been the most instrumental skill to my success over the years.”
Before venturing into lending 23 years ago, Jefferson had a successful career as a finance director in the auto industry after earning degrees in finance and economics. The idea of the mortgage industry struck a chord with him, and he discovered that he could leverage his financial and credit knowledge to help people achieve their dream of homeownership.
Jefferson’s dedication to his clients and expertise in navigating complex financial situations have earned him impressive achievements. During his career, he has helped more than 5,000 families achieve homeownership while earning the prestigious Chairman’s Circle award at Guaranteed Rate for three consecutive years and receiving the President’s Club honor 20 years in a row. “I want to be my clients’ lender for life,” he says. “My clients know I take the extra time to put a comprehensive plan together to help them be in the best financial position when purchasing a home. This sets them up for success with a monthly payment that fits their family’s budget.”

Apart from his professional accomplishments, he takes pride in celebrating 26 years of marriage and raising four children. “As proud as I am of my success as a loan officer, I am even more proud of the incredible family we’ve raised and what they will contribute to the world,” he shares. Philanthropy is also close to his heart, and he actively contributes to eradicating pediatric cancer through annual fundraisers for Cal’s Angels and St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
