A real estate investor since 1998, Jean L. Metzler didn’t originally see herself becoming an agent. She became licensed and later pivoted into the industry after a lengthy career in corporate communications. Metzler believes that the marketing, persuasion, negotiation, client service and people skills she developed in the corporate world, plus her enthusiasm for real estate and her Northwestern University Master of Science in communication degree, have uniquely positioned her to succeed in real estate and her two decades of experience illustrate that.
Metzler specializes in residential property throughout the Chicago metro area and many of its suburbs. Even though most years her individual sales numbers are on track with those of large teams, she is not trying to be a volume producer. “I intentionally choose to work with only a select group of clients each year in order to maintain a personal and boutique brokerage approach,” she says. By maintaining the “boutique brokerage” model, she’s able to deliver powerhouse service from beginning to end. “More than 95 percent of my clients are repeat and referral clients, and I am very proud of that. I think people like my candor and honesty, and they know that I am a strong negotiator and fierce advocate for them.”
An Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Metzler holds membership in her national and local Realtor associations, as well as the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council. She uses the power of social media to connect with clients and recently started a YouTube channel to house her segments as a host on American Dream TV—an Emmy-nominated national show that highlights local lifestyle and real estate. Her accolades include numerous sales and other professional awards, and she was a featured expert on the show, “Good Buy, Bad Buy?” on the HGTV network.
Metzler made the meaningful decision to change brokerage firms in December 2022 for the first time ever, allowing her to advance, accelerate, and take charge of the next phase of her professional evolution. Outside of work, she enjoys cheering at her son’s high school baseball games and time spent with her special pup, Ringo.
