After growing up in Arlington Heights, Kimberly Bowman moved to the city upon earning her bachelor’s degree in finance and master’s in education. Having lived in several neighborhoods from downtown to the North Side, she now resides in Chicago’s Gold Coast. Bowman was successful in her previous career as an elementary school teacher, having been recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education and winning an award of merit in the early career educator category. However, the extra work she had to take up just to make ends meet eventually drove her into apartment leasing, which in turn led her to become a real estate agent. Six years later, her people and business skills have yielded a thriving career.
Serving residential buyers and sellers in downtown Chicago and its surrounding suburbs, Bowman deals in an array of property types, including condominiums, new construction and single-family and luxury homes. Known as a resource for knowledge and trusted advisor by her clients, she tapped into her business acumen to navigate the tumult of 2021. “The No. 1 priority has been setting clients’ expectations from the start,” Bowman says. Her qualification process ensures she appropriately educates her clients, understands their needs and manages expectations. Though facts-driven, she aims to keep her client interactions fun and easygoing and often creates genuine, lasting relationships. Her dedication and consistency have led to a wholly referral-based business.
Despite the challenges of the past year, Bowman is proud to have earned the Top Producer award with @properties Christie’s International Real Estate in 2021. A certified negotiations expert, she is also a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors. This year, she created a team that fosters professional collaboration to better personalize the service they provide to clients.
Bowman enjoys exercising and playing golf in her spare time. She also serves as board president for the Newberry Plaza Condominium Association, which serves more than 550 units and 1,000 residents.
