Josh Hayden, Senior Mortgage Consultant

GreenState Mortgage

Transparency and empathy are the keys to success for Senior Mortgage Consultant Josh Hayden, who says he doesn’t compromise his values for quick wins but instead focuses on delivering a superior experience and becoming a resource for his clients for years to come.

Hayden prides himself on the high level of education and communication he provides to his clients, noting that he’s often described as very kind, highly responsive and incredibly helpful. “I always put my best food forward the first time—no ‘negotiating’ for a lower rate or being surprised by hidden points or fees—and ensure that clients understand every number, payment and closing cost so that they make a financially sound decision while also enjoying the very personal process of buying their new home,” he says.

He works with a wide range of buyers, from first-time homeowners to jumbo clients, multi-unit properties and more. Because he can lend in all 50 states, Hayden seeks to develop a long-term relationship with every one of his clients and partners so he can help with financing no matter where life takes them. He is delighted that this has allowed him to build a business that is 100 percent referral based.

After moving to Chicago, Hayden began working on the post-closing-operations team at a local bank. The role offered him the opportunity to learn the intricacies of the mortgage process, but after a few years in the position, he knew he wanted to work directly with clients. He joined a high-producing origination team and helped facilitate the closing of hundreds of loans during his four-years as a team member—but in 2019, Hayden branched out on his own and has been originating independently for more than three years.

Hayden is grateful to be supported by his right-hand pipeline manager and “paperwork ninja” Alex Kiolbasa. Hayden and Kiolbasa work directly with clients throughout the loan process to ensure they are fully supported from beginning to end.
