While helping with the sale of his grandfather’s home, Danny Lewis fell in love with the entire transaction process, and soon after that, he began a real estate career and never looked back. He assists luxury clients, first-time homebuyers, relocation clients and clients buying and selling simultaneously. For 11 years, he’s specialized in condos, single-family homes and co-ops in Chicago’s neighborhoods and North Shore suburbs.
Lewis has qualified for the Chicago Association of Realtors Top Producer award since 2013. In 2021, he was their Bronze recipient for total volume. Last year was also his highest-grossing year by volume.
For Lewis, knowing his clients ensures that he’ll find them exactly what they’re looking for in a property. He’s organized, and puts himself in his clients’ shoes. “I think of how I’d like to be treated,” he relates. “For that reason, I don’t come across as sales-y.” Honesty is also crucial. “My clients appreciate how honest I am with them. They realize that for me, it’s not about the sale, it’s about making sure that they become long-term clients,” he shares.
Lewis draws on experience gained from his previous career to remain at the top. “I worked in public relations,” he recalls. “That field made me learn about branding and marketing, which are essential to building a real estate business.” He also credits mentorship and building relationships. “I was lucky enough to have a mentor very early on,” he elaborates. “I’ve also put a giant emphasis on befriending my fellow Realtors, and that has truly helped me.”
Most of all, Lewis values his clients’ trust. “In the beginning, most of my clients came from online advertising. Today, almost all of my clientele are referrals from past clients. That’s the biggest compliment I can get from a client, is the trust for me to take care of someone they care about,” he declares.
