Listening to clients and giving them the best information available is Steve Green’s approach to home sales. The strategy has served him well as a broker for Baird & Warner in Oak Park. “I really like to lay out the facts and options for my clients so they make the best decision,” Green explains. “The more information that they receive, the better their decision and outcome.”

When it comes to listening, Green finds that a lot of people in sales simply fail to pay attention to the details their clients share and instead are waiting for them to finish so they can make their sales pitch. “It’s so important to be a good listener,” he says. “This is probably the reason my clients love the service I provide and become lasting friends.”

Green puts his clients at ease with a calming style but is always ready for a new challenge. “I want my clients to be comfortable and trust me to steer them in the right direction,” he notes. He brings to real estate more than 30 years of experience as an award-winning sales manager. “The old adage that sales is 90% customer follow-up also rings true in real estate,” Green remarks. “All of the best practices and successful habits that I learned in my previous career were easily adopted to my real estate career.”

Green believes clearing roadblocks or hurdles are part of the challenge to make the home sales process the best it can be for his clients. Helping to solve problems comes second nature to him; when he sees a need, whether in the community or for his clients, he works to find winning solutions. In his community, Green spearheaded the establishment of a new neighborhood association, Galewood Neighbors, to bring a voice to his neighborhood and to help solve local problems. “I’m relentless when it comes to finding solutions to make it a better place for my clients or my community,” he says. “It’s just who I am.”
