Justin Greenberg, Realtor, Lead Broker of The JG Group

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago

Justin Greenberg, a Realtor and lead broker of The JG Group at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (BHHS) Chicago, was just a working college kid caddying and valeting at a Chicago-area country club 14 years ago when he began to pick up wisdom from some commercial brokers while serving as their caddy. When they suggested real estate as a great career path, he took the advice and started real estate classes. In the span of just one semester, he studied for and passed his Illinois real estate sales exam — on the first try.

“Instead of going to Mexico for spring break, I spent the week interviewing with brokerages here and made the decision to start my career that very summer,” Greenberg recalls. Today, he credits a variety of mentors, including current managing broker Michael Mazzei, for helping him get where he is. But it’s fair to say Greenberg also came pre-equipped with business smarts and an uncommon work ethic.

“My clients have consistently said I’m professional and friendly,” this four-time BHHS President’s Circle winner says. “They say that I’m very detailed and that they could feel confident in my knowledge of the process.” Using technology like videos to boost listings and get properties moved faster, Greenberg has even piloted new programs through Google to increase calls and leads. And when last year’s COVID-19 pandemic hit, he was cautious but ready.

“It was scary at first, of course,” he admits. “But virtual meetings soon became the norm, and I quickly transformed the way I handled meetings.” This year, he founded The JG Group and added several agents to his team. With a tripled pipeline, The JG Group and Greenberg have much to look forward to.

“When clients say they couldn’t have done it without me, that’s what it’s all about,” he says. “There’s a reason many Realtors never truly retire. Serving my clients, community and family is what drives me.”
