Josh Lipton, President, Lipton Luxury Living

Broker and Developer, Compass

From first-time to luxury buyers and sellers to investors, developers, professional athletes and everything in between, Josh Lipton, president of Lipton Luxury Living and founding member of Compass Chicago, serves clients in Chicago’s most in-demand, sought-after neighborhoods with a concierge level of service, sound insight and unrivaled expertise.

“One of the many reasons I was drawn to real estate is the infinite potential and opportunity irrespective of market conditions, which allows my creativity and tenacity to shine by thinking outside the box and tackling new challenges,” Lipton says. “Each day is a new adventure, and no two properties or clients are the same, each with unique objectives, circumstances and story to tell.”

Before becoming a residential real estate broker in 2014, Lipton cut his teeth as an analyst for a large investment bank in Chicago and a real estate private equity fund in Manhattan. Building on these experiences, he set yet another goal — law school and passing the Illinois bar — and, naturally, he executed. Now, seven years later, Lipton has sold over $150 million of real estate and is annually ranked among the top 1% of brokers by the Chicago Association of Realtors. Aside from his unwavering work ethic and passion, Lipton attributes much of his success to his professional and life experiences, all of which have led to making him a better agent by arming him with a unique background and skillset to best represent his clients with the foresight and acute awareness to strategically navigate any transaction.

Clients compliment Lipton’s hands-on level of service, creative problem-solving, intuition and candid personality. “I treat every one of my clients’ deals as if it’s my own, guiding them every step of the way throughout the transaction,” he remarks. “At the end of the day, it’s all about adding value and turning an otherwise stressful and unfamiliar process into an enjoyable and memorable experience.”

When asked what advice he offers to aspiring brokers, Lipton says, “Take chances and don’t wait for things to happen — make them happen!”
