Jon Altizer, Originating Manager, SVP of Mortgage Lending

Guaranteed Rate Affinity

For 28 years, Jon Altizer has been a consummate lending professional, proving that there’s no better asset than experience. “I stared at age 16 as an intern for a family mortgage company and became a mortgage processor at age 18 before becoming a sales assistant and junior loan officer,” says Altizer, an originating manager and senior vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate Affinity. “Along the way, my mentors taught me how to anticipate any sticking points in a loan and get ahead of them before they become a problem.”

Specializing in jumbo, conventional, FHA and VA loans for first time home buyers and 1-4 unit residential property owners, Altizer balances his own clients with the responsibility of co-managing a team with his business partner CJ Paloucek. “Our entire team is knowledgeable, communicative and can quickly answer any questions a client may have,” he says, noting that between them all, someone is always on hand to be of assistance. “While we maintain a calm front to help our clients feel at ease throughout the transaction, behind the scenes, we work tirelessly to hit our deadlines.”

For nearly three decades, Altizer has built his business through word of mouth from real estate partners, past clients, attorneys, financial planners and networking. Taking an advisory role, Altizer prioritizes educating his clients and providing them with all the details upfront to promote a seamless experience and foster a relationship built on mutual trust and a common goal.
Throughout the pandemic, Altizer navigated the ever-changing guidelines. “I am very proud of our team for continuing to earn high grades and glowing client testimonials in a time when those were not easy to achieve,” he says.
