Real estate has always been James Hampton’s passion. He transitioned from selling residential properties to lending, to best put to use his skills assisting clients in the pursuit of the American Dream: becoming homeowners.
Hampton, senior home lending advisor with JP Morgan Chase Bank, has worked in lending for 20 years, endearing himself to clients by always doing exactly what he says he is going to do. He assists everyone, from first-time to step-up buyers and investors. 2020 was by far his best year in business. “My team and I helped more than 200 families with their home lending needs, funding $107 million in loans,” he says. “I was honored to be featured on the cover of Chicago Agent Magazine’s Who’s Who 2020 edition.”
For three consecutive years, he has been the recipient of Chase’s National Achiever award, honoring the company’s top salespeople. “My clients can feel confident that they are working with a true professional, someone who has their best interests in mind,” Hampton says. “I pride myself on simplifying the process, while ensuring they have a full understanding of it from beginning to end.”
Prior to mortgage lending, Hampton worked for 6 years in auto lending, which offered him an understanding of how to analyze credit and income to properly determine a client’s ability to repay a loan—skills that transfer well to lending. “I have the ability to quickly analyze client data and evaluate necessary steps to establish a game plan that is tailor made for their situation,” he says. “My experience has taught me the importance of being proactive; anticipating potential obstacles is important in delivering a stress-free process.”
Actively involved in Zion Healing Temple’s outreach ministry, he assists troubled youth and senior citizens throughout Chicagoland. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 26 years, their three sons and grandchildren.
