Huntington National Bank mortgage loan officer Bill Kekatos knows that behind every loan file, there is a human being who deserves exceptional service. With 31 years in the business, Kekatos always makes the client’s happiness his first priority, focusing on personal connections rather than transactions.
“I believe in long-term relationships, not only with my clients, but also the Realtors, vendors and my Huntington colleagues who have all worked hard to make the loan happen,” says Kekatos.
He got his start in the industry as a college student working part-time. Since then, his entire career has been spent working in mortgage loan originating. The experience Kekatos acquired during his many years has led him to specialize in a number of lending areas, including purchasing and financing loans, as well as new construction, condo, portfolio and jumbo loans. He even has experience with physician and dentist loans.
The reason for Kekatos’ success is simple: He cares about his clients. Kekatos makes sure to give the clients exactly what they need to make the best choices for themselves and their families, both in their current situations and the future.
“I like to get to know my clients, establish trust and comfort and try to demystify the loan process, which can be daunting and intimidating to many, especially the first-time homebuyers,” he says.
The high value Kekatos places on client satisfaction and his desire to help others is reflected in his productivity. He’s only getting better at his job. Kekatos had his best year ever in 2020 originating loans, despite the pandemic and without sacrificing customer service.
A family man, Kekatos is the proud father of two adults, both of whom are working in their chosen fields. He also tries to visit the Greek island of Kefalonia, where he was born and raised, at least once a year to see his parents and siblings. Outside of work, Kekatos is active in his church and supports local community non-profit organizations.
