With nearly three decades of lending experience and a natural aptitude for problem-solving, Tracy Sorge finds creative solutions to fit clients’ needs. A senior mortgage loan originator with Wintrust Mortgage, the lifelong Chicago-area resident is an expert in jumbo lending, first-time homebuying, out-of-state lending and advanced-degree loan programs. “I am very attentive and responsive and aim to make my clients feel confident about their financial decision,” she says, adding that she takes an educational approach so her clients understand all aspects of the process.
Lending in all 50 states, Sorge describes herself as a “Mary Poppins of the mortgage industry” due to her “carpet bag” full of options and solutions. She promises transparency and honesty, keeping her lines of communication open 24/7. “I want my clients to know that I am their partner in the journey and that they can come to me with anything from the very beginning and throughout, even past closing,” she says. She diligently follows up with clients a week after closing to ensure they’ve settled in, and then continues to check in years later.
Working with a strong support team, Sorge has a vast network of referral partners that includes Realtors, attorneys, financial planners, accountants, past clients and relocation specialists. “I am an extension of their business, and I take that very seriously,” she says.
In 2019, Sorge earned Wintrust’s President’s Circle award for the first time, just a year after she scored a spot in the company’s Honors Circle. Sorge is a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors and the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.
Since her son’s medical scare 11 years ago, Sorge and her family have supported St. Baldrick’s Foundation by organizing annual events to raise funds for research into cures for childhood cancers. Due to COVID-19, she’s ramped up her gardening efforts to turn her home into a sanctuary for the family, which includes their rescued black Lab.
