Susan Charlier’s career as an Emmy Award-winning television journalist made her no stranger to moving. In fact, Charlier and her family have bought and sold homes throughout six states. Relocating her husband and three young children across the country inspired Charlier to help other families find their new home as a real estate broker.
As a luxury home specialist with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, Charlier focuses on single-family home sales and relocations to the western suburbs. Her 15 years in television broadcasting and education as a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist have trained Charlier to apply a multiplatform media marketing approach to every real estate transaction. Charlier’s proven marketing, negotiating and staging expertise help her sell her listings at least 50% faster than the market average. Thanks to her keen eye for design, many seller clients no longer want to move after Charlier professionally stages their home.
When Charlier isn’t working, she enjoys giving back to her community. As a two-time Parent Teacher Association president, secretary for the Clarendon Hills Chamber of Commerce, and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and her local church, Charlier’s mantra is all about giving back. “You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give,” she says.
Charlier’s clients appreciate her honesty, integrity and unparalleled work ethic. They know she’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that the transaction goes smoothly. Yet for her, real estate is far more than just a job; working with clients has been a joyful way to make a difference in others’ lives. “For me, a closing is just the beginning of a lifelong relationship with my clients,” she says. “I’m the emergency contact for their kids at day care and invited to family celebrations.”
