Michael Horwitz, Managing Broker, Director of Sales

Peak Realty Chicago

Always ready to adapt, Michael Horwitz pivoted from a career in digital marketing to real estate and now serves as managing broker and director of sales at Peak Realty Chicago. With seven years of experience under his belt, Horwitz serves clients of all types, including luxury, first-time and relocation, helping them buy and sell condominiums, single-family homes and multifamily properties. Horwitz specializes in the entire Chicago urban area, as well as northwestern suburban markets.

A natural networker from a young age, Horwitz attended Indiana University, where he was known for his easygoing and gregarious nature, eventually earning himself the nickname “the Mayor.” After a short career in digital marketing, where he refined his interpersonal and organizational skills, he turned toward real estate and used his networking prowess to connect with professionals in the industry, learn more about the work and find a place for his skill set. Horwitz eventually found a mentor from whom he learned the ins and outs of the Chicago urban market, complementing his personal knowledge of the northwestern suburbs, where he grew up.

Now with several years of experience, Horwitz prides himself on being levelheaded, honest and personable in his interactions with clients and peers. “A lot of deals can become emotional for buyers, sellers and even brokers,” he says. “It’s important to remain consistent and keep emotions in check. I like to keep things light while also understanding many decisions are momentous for my clients. I am a staunch advocate for my clients, but I always try to provide them with the same sense of calm that I have, even during the toughest negotiations.” Horwitz has become a teacher as well, serving as director of sales and leading more than 20 agents, who gain skills and experience with his help.

In his spare time, Horwitz serves as a chair of the Chicago Young Professionals group supporting the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, a cause close to this heart.
