For Heather Seidelman, real estate is all about building relationships, whether it’s with clients or other professionals. As a result, her business is made up solely of referrals.
Seidelman has been a full-service residential Realtor for 13 years, with a focus on Bucktown, Wicker Park and Logan Square. Clients seek her out again and again for condos, single-family homes, luxury properties or investment properties as their needs change. “Maintaining relationships and being a trusted resource for my clients and friends is the most rewarding part of the work I do,” Seidelman says.
After meeting other agents, Seidelman realized that working in real estate offered her the chance to maximize her people skills and help others along the way. Today, she is a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors, which has named her a top producer. Seidelman’s ability to form relationships with other agents and clients, pragmatic approach to negotiations, and troubleshooting skills set her apart. “When I started, a few agents were so great to me — introducing me to everyone, giving me referrals and answering questions. I like to give back in that way as well,” she says.
In 2007, Seidelman went into real estate during a rocky market. She pushed forward to build a successful career and tells others not to let a downturn discourage them. “I was able to learn how to do things the right way,” she says. “Every year, I saw my business grow, and I’m very proud of where I am today.”
Seidelman focuses on living a healthy lifestyle through exercise and by surrounding herself with people she loves. Her strong team has helped her achieve a personal goal of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Seidelman lives in Logan Square with her two daughters and her husband, who’s a real estate attorney.
