From registered nurse to interior designer to real estate professional, Cathy Walsh’s career path is as storied as her ability to serve clients — especially those new to the experience. “It’s such a thrill to work with first-time homebuyers,” Walsh says. “It is very rewarding to take them through the process, educate them and help them navigate their way to finding their forever home.”
Armed with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, Walsh worked as a nurse until her third child was born. She then went back to school to obtain her associate degree in interior design from the Harrington College of Design, after which she began her own design and build firm. “I soon realized that I was the most qualified person to sell the homes I designed and built, so I obtained my real estate license and the rest is history,” Walsh says.
Twenty-five years on, and Walsh’s real estate business continues to thrive. A Certified Residential Specialist, Seller Representative Specialist, and former member of the American Society of Interior Designers and the National Association of Home Builders, Walsh has the ability to visualize a home’s potential and transform ideas into reality. “I enjoy helping my clients see beyond the immediate space by pointing out the possibilities and ideas that will make a house their home,” she says.
Specializing in first-time homebuyers, upsizers and luxury buyers, Walsh primarily focuses on the western suburbs of Chicago, Hinsdale, and northwest Indiana. She is known for her responsiveness, attentiveness and ability to solve unique challenges.
Walsh serves on the board of directors of Mount St. Joseph Association, a facility for women with physical and cognitive disabilities, and on the business advisory council for Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She is also a member of the nominating committee for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In her downtime, she can be found leading tours for the Chicago Architecture Foundation.
