Focused on maximizing clients’ investments in real estate, Carol Collins takes a consultative approach with each person. While keeping in mind their lifestyle and must-haves in a home, she tries to identify the potential to improve it so as to secure their chances of an easy sale in case of an unexpected relocation.
Collins, vice president of sales at Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, has been in real estate for 27 years, long enough to see neighborhoods transform and buildings evolve from construction to standing. She assists all categories of buyers and sellers on the North Side of Chicago, working primarily in neighborhoods near her own real estate investments, including the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Old Irving Park, Old Town, River North and surrounding areas. Collins was among the top 15 agents at Jameson Sotheby’s last year and is a top-producing Realtor in the Chicago area.
“I am usually able to identify exactly what people like, and therefore shorten a buyer’s search process,” says Collins. “With sellers, I try to match their style as we go to market. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach; I strive to make it a five-star experience.” To best serve clients, Collins has an office partner with whom to co-list properties when she needs a hand and an assistant to help with client-care needs, gift packages and database upkeep.
Collins worked in retail sales throughout college, and upon graduating served as a marketing assistant to a top real estate producer. “I took a leap of faith, studied for my license, and did both marketing and sales for the first five years,” she recalls. Collins learned the real estate side by hosting open houses, attending brokers’ open houses and helping experienced agents. “My satisfaction comes from seeing and hearing that my clients are happy with their experience,” she says.
Outside of work, Collins likes spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and taking power yoga classes.
