As a law school grad, Tina Culver Amelio decided early on to go the non-traditional route by pursuing a career in real estate. An internship during her final year of school at DePaul College of Law prompted her to think about her professional plans, particularly when she realized how much she enjoyed interacting with people and helping them to resolve conflicts. “I started thinking about options that didn’t involve spending the majority of my days sitting in an office or courtroom,” she remembers. “I realized a career in real estate would allow me to be on the go as I utilized my contractual law knowledge.”
Sixteen years later, the Sergio & Banks broker couldn’t be happier with her choice. “I feel a great sense of accomplishment after every closing when I see how happy and thankful my clients are,” she says.
Amelio assists a range of buyers, from first-timers to those looking to upsize or downsize, as well as sellers with various needs, desires and goals. She specializes in the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Bucktown, Logan Square and North Center neighborhoods, but is very familiar with many other areas and is always willing to go wherever her clients need her to. “I do not say no to a client seeking my services, whether it’s a $200,000 deal or a $2 million deal,” she says. Her law degree, Real Estate Negotiation Expert certification and work ethic have helped her to be named a Chicago Association of Realtors top producer many times throughout her career, even reaching the association’s top 1 percent mark.
Amelio genuinely enjoys helping a buyer find their dream home or seller to get their home sold quickly for a great price. It’s the reason why she focuses just as much on creating connections with people as she does on closing a transaction. “I listen to my clients’ needs and goals and strive to accomplish every one of them,” she says. “I’m always quick to get a response or answer their questions. Being readily accessible is key in this business.”
Amelio loves to travel, bike, run and spend time with her family.
