Selling corporate office equipment for 30 years taught Mary Serle the basics of how to hustle, communicate and negotiate — skills she adds heart and empathy to when assisting clients in her current career.
“The reason I made the move into real estate was the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment I felt after assisting both buyers and sellers with finding their dream home, forever home or investment property,” says Serle, a Realtor and broker associate with Baird & Warner. “I like being able to accomplish the sale and get them to where they want to be.”
A member of Baird & Warner’s President’s Club, Serle received the Five Star Real Estate Agent Award in 2018 and 2019. Recently, she earned her company’s Military on the Move and First Responder certifications, designations that help her better assist veterans, active military members and first responders, a cause that is personal to her.
“This past year, paramedics and fire personnel saved my life,” she says. “Now I want to pay it forward whenever I can, assisting them with the purchase and sale of their homes, with all of the additional benefits that Baird & Warner and myself provide.”
Serle always tries to be approachable and available to clients, through good times and bad. As an advocate for clients, she gets the job done with tenacity and hard work. “I wake up every day looking forward to what’s ahead, knowing that no day is the same,” she says. “My will to succeed and assist my clients drives me to do better.”
In the past year, Serle has begun using aerial drone photography, social media and staging to market homes, noting that these tools have allowed her to sell listings faster and at higher price points.
Repeat sales and referrals from clients dramatically increased this past year, keeping her business on a path of growth. “My proudest accomplishment is developing my business to the point where my goals are now a reality and my clients are my friends and family,” she says. Her biggest interests outside of work are spending time with family, traveling, going on long bike rides, taking in the sunshine and practicing Pilates.
