A career in lending allows the team at loanDepot — made up of Joe Perry, district manager; Bryan Pilosi, branch manager; Mary Bane, vice president of regional production; and Brian Buchanan, branch manager — to help clients achieve their goal of buying a home.
“I believe in putting the needs of your co-workers ahead of your own,” Perry says. As an expert at getting the more challenging loans approved, he appreciates the fact that loanDepot doesn’t have the overlays that might limit a client’s ability to purchase a home. The company also offers renovation loans to finance repairs that are needed to get clients into the homes they desire.
When he graduated from college, Pilosi wanted to help families realize the American Dream and saw mortgage lending as a key driver of homeownership. Recognized by his employers with President’s Circle and leadership awards almost every year of his career, Pilosi has also consistently been ranked by Mortgage Executive magazine among the top 1 percent of mortgage loan originators in America. In his 15-year career, he has done more than half a billion dollars in personal loan production. “We consider clients’ immediate short-term goal of homeownership and the long-term financial goal of paying off the home sooner,” he says. “I review debt load with every client, taking into consideration their whole financial picture.”
Bane entered the industry for the flexible schedule and income potential, but she quickly realized that in order to be successful, she had to work twice as hard as she had been in commercial real estate. As vice president of regional production, Bane’s clients are her managers and loan officers. Overwhelmingly, the best testimonials she has received are from those co-workers who have invested anywhere from six to 20 years working with her. Ranked among Mortgage Professional America’s Elite Women in 2017, she was also featured in the MReport’s Women in Housing feature.
Buchanan’s first job out of college was working in a steel mill with co-workers trying hard to achieve homeownership. “At loanDepot, we help clients overcome financial challenges that can prevent them from achieving homeownership,” he says. To him, the most inspiring part of his job as branch manager is helping loan originators succeed.
