Draper and Kramer Mortgage Corp.
With 35 years of mortgage experience spanning a range of roles and lenders, mortgage professional Tammy Maranto is a true home financing expert. She is vice president of residential lending at Draper and Kramer Mortgage Corp., based out of the company’s Schaumburg, Illinois branch. In addition to being a top loan originator at the company, Chicago magazine has recognized her as a 5 Star Mortgage Professional.
Maranto started from the ground level in the mortgage world. After entering the industry in 1983 as a closer and then working as a processer, her potential for loan origination was recognized by the loan officer she assisted. She began originating on her own in 1987, and discovered her passion. “I really enjoy starting a business, working with my clients and building business and personal relationships that last,” she says.
Speed and responsiveness are the cornerstones of Maranto’s service. “My approach to working with my clients is to respond as quickly as possible,” she says. “Purchasing a home is a big decision, and clients want answers quickly when they have questions or concerns. I try to respond fast and make them feel that their questions are not only important but relevant.” Sure enough, Maranto’s clients often praise her timeliness and the fact that she makes their needs a priority.
Many of Maranto’s clients are first-time homebuyers, and she feels a special connection to them. “I am the mother of three young men who are in this age group, and I would like them to be treated respectfully and have all their questions answered, so I strive to do that.” She also goes the extra mile to find affordable down payment and closing cost solutions for clients. Her greatest accomplishment is when she is able to help borrowers who have been turned away by other lenders.
Maranto takes pride not only in being successful at her job but being a successful mother and a contributor to her community. She is a regular volunteer and fundraiser for the Pregnancy Counseling Center in Mundelein.
Despite her accomplishments, Maranto isn’t resting on her laurels. She’s as motivated as ever to continue growing her business and helping the borrowers who need her expertise.
