John Lyons, Realtor

Baird & Warner

Baird & Warner

Baird & Warner Realtor John Lyons enjoys a career spent helping first-time buyers land the first true place of their own. But Lyons didn’t necessarily know his career path would eventually lead him to work in real estate.

Immediately after graduating from high school, Lyons enlisted in the Marine Corps, a dream of his since he was just 10 years old. When he finished serving, he went on to graduate from Indiana University and pursued a career in the medical device field. After 11 years spent in the corporate world, Lyons decided that he wanted to build his own business, and he had a strong love for what real estate provides clients every day.

Lyons works within a variety of Chicago neighborhoods, and he typically services first-time buyers and sellers aiming to move out of state or into the suburbs. Within the past year alone, his referrals and repeat clients have doubled. Lyons was also able to increase his listing inventory to more than eight properties, a major jump from the start of the year. “I am so happy to have made the career change to real estate. I have grown so much in the past five years,” he says. “Why? Because I am able to make a very positive and direct impact on someone’s life. The people I work with never forget that.”

For the past three years, Lyons has earned the Outstanding Sales Achievement award from the Chicago Association of Realtors, as well as the Baird & Warner Founders’ Club award. Yet his favorite award of them all has been the Baird & Warner Lincoln Park Best Dressed Agent Award, which he earned in 2016.

When he’s not working, Lyons is involved with Home For Our Troops, an organization that builds and donates custom-designed homes for veterans. He also enjoys skiing, golfing and getting outdoors any time he can. His biggest personal accomplishment in the past year was being able to take a completely phone-free trip with his family.
