The Keller Group of Charles Rutenberg Realty
Real estate is built on relationships, so having strong people skills is essential to an agent’s success. It comes naturally for Heather Keller, broker associate at The Keller Group of Charles Rutenberg Realty. “My people skills, organization and persistence has been extremely instrumental in my successful real estate career,” she says. “I never give up, and will do everything in my power to close that deal!”
During her 12 years in real estate, Keller has been recognized by the Chicago Association of Realtors as a Top Producer, and is a past recipient of the Rookie of the Year award. “I’m dedicated to actually helping others achieve their goals, whether it is buying their first home or selling a home and buying a new one,” Keller says. “My clients like working with me because of my patience, communication and knowledge of the market. They appreciate my guidance and expertise.”
Keller mostly works sellers and has extensive experience selling homes, especially short sales. “My team and I have negotiated hundreds of short sales since 2007. Listing a short sale and a traditional sale are very different, but regardless, my team and I love working with sellers,” she says. She recently expanded her business by hiring a transaction coordinator. “I’ve learned mostly over the past year how to delegate,” she says. “Finally it is coming together, and I am giving up more responsibilities to her, which allows me to get out there more and meet new people, etc. Because of this, we are closing more transactions in 2018.”
Keller and her husband left their corporate jobs in 2007 to start a career in real estate. “We struggled but wanted so bad to ‘make it’ so that one day when we got married and had kids, we could have the best of both worlds: working from home!” she says. “Many years later, things are finally a bit easier for us.”
In her free time, Keller enjoys spending time outside in the summer, going to the beach, running and volunteering at her two sons’ schools. “Between being a wife, a mom, and having a real estate career, I stay very busy,” she says.
