Senior Vice President of Mortgage Lending
Guaranteed Rate

Ben Cohen does more than tread water when it comes to structuring mortgages for homebuyers, even in those instances that have confounded others. A competitive swimmer since age four and throughout college, there is no doubt that he has made waves as a leading lender. Mortgage Executive Magazine and Scotsman Guide consistently count him among America’s top originators, ranking him number 16 on their lists in 2014 thanks to his success in closing more than $150 million in volume. This year proves to be even better, as Cohen has already closed in excess of $120 million in the first half of 2015.

“I believe that real estate agents refer their clients to me because their past clients have had a superior customer service experience,” he says. These are skills that Cohen acquired and strengthened in his former profession as a technical architect for a consulting firm. That role required hours of travel, with uncompromised delivery of services, to companies that sought to operate more efficiently. “From that experience, I’ve learned that superior customer service is in the best interest of my clients and my business.”

Today, those clients include repeat clients, first- time homebuyers, vacation home purchasers and multi-property investors. With over a decade in the industry, Cohen has been equipped with the expertise to skillfully navigate the ever-changing landscape, which is why he has successfully closed deals that others have labeled dead in the water. Throughout the process, he maintains constant communication with his clients to ensure full transparency and consistent customer service.

Cohen’s portfolio reflects his lifelong interest in the industry, one that he describes as offering the opportunity to get what he puts into it. “I can control my own destiny thanks to my career,” Cohen says. “I thrive on helping people’s dreams of homeownership come true.”
