For Amy Pritchard, a career in real estate is truly a family affair. Not only does this eight-year industry veteran draw inspiration from her husband, who has established his own multi-faceted real estate firm, but her toddler sons also share their parents’ passion. “My two children, Brady and Jack, often accompany my husband and me as we scout for investment properties or conversion deals,” she says. “It’s not unusual for us to canvass the marketplace or attend open houses as a family on the weekends!”. Amy finds that visiting inventory every couple of days keeps her finger right on the pulse of what is happening in the ever-changing Chicago marketplace.

A luxury property expert with an extensive knowledge of downtown neighborhoods like the Gold Coast, River North and West Loop, Pritchard describes herself as methodical, honest and extremely diligent when it comes to meeting clients’ needs. “I can’t get to sleep if I have an unanswered e-mail in my inbox!” she says, explaining that she empathizes with buyers and sellers because real estate can be as emotional as it is financial. This is why Pritchard makes it clear from the onset that she is a trusted advisor who will help clients build a residential portfolio. “A home tends to be someone’s most important financial asset; I never lose sight of that.”

A graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, this Ivy Leaguer has adopted that institution’s credo – “Life is service – the one who progresses is the one who gives his fellow men a little more – a little better service” – as words to live by. As her career has evolved over the past decade, Pritchard knows that patience and perseverance make all the difference when striving for success. Her white-glove service includes going above and beyond to make her clients happy. When inventory is low, she creatively combs pre-MLS listings, canvasses the streets and sends personalized letters to homeowners to gauge their interest in selling. And when her sellers are looking to move their property, Pritchard creates customized marketing plans and remains engaged with those who have attended showings to continuously motivate them and respond to objections.

Honored as one of Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty’s top producers, Pritchard is both a Certified Negotiation Expert and an Accredited Buyer’s Representative. She attributes much of her achievement to her affiliation with Sotheby’s, given its high-quality reputation and global reach. But her current roster of accomplishments is just the beginning of what Pritchard aspires to be her real estate legacy. As she puts it, “I’d like to be the voice of luxury real estate in Chicago – all while making the extra efforts to ensure my rolodex of clients get what they want, when they want it.”
